The Issues

  • REDUCING PROPERTY TAXES

Senator Angela Paxton is leading the charge to lower property taxes and keep money in your pockets. In 2019, she authored legislation to prevent future increases in property taxes without local voter approval, and she voted to reduce school district property taxes statewide. In 2021, she continued to keep her promises by voting to reduce property taxes again and increase the homestead exemption.

  • SECURING THE BORDER

Senator Angela Paxton supports a strong and secure border to stop the flow of dangerous criminals and drugs into our communities and is fighting to end human trafficking by the cartels. She voted to appropriate $2.9 billion dollars to the Department of Public Safety and Texas Military Department to bolster state border security operations to keep our border secure.

  • COMBATTING INFLATION WITH A THRIVING TEXAS ECONOMY

Senator Angela Paxton has supported and authored fiscally responsible legislation to help create a $27 billion dollar state budget surplus which she has pledged to direct toward property tax relief for hard working Texans.

  • BACKING THE BLUE

Senator Angela Paxton stands with our law enforcement and will always fight to keep our families safe against the defund the police movement. That is why she is endorsed by local law enforcement leaders.

  • EDUCATION

Every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. As a former teacher, school counselor, and the first person in my family to graduate from college, I know the importance of a strong education. As your Senator, I will fight every single day for our Texas students because they deserve the very best that we have to offer.

  • SCHOOL SAFETY

Keeping our students safe at school is a top priority for me. The heartbreaking tragedy in Uvalde should never happen again. As we continue to look at what happened and identify the preventable circumstances, we must do everything in our power to ensure all of our Texas schools are equipped to protect our students.
